Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager who can lead our efforts to define our overall product strategy for both Monotype and a recently acquired subsidiary, Fontworks. This is a unique opportunity to combine product marketing and product management skills in a strategic and impactful role. You will be responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging, and launch plans for our products in Japan. You will also work closely with the product development team to provide feedback and insights from the market, and to influence the product roadmap and vision. This is a fantastic opportunity to be the voice of the customer and the market expert for this critical market.
Responsibilities
- Define Fontworks’ overall product strategy for Japan that is consistent with Monotype’s overall global strategy, direction, and sales motions.
- Deeply understand the needs of the Japanese market through market research and guide our global development team to create and launch outstanding experiences.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for competitive intelligence, staying abreast of industry trends in the Japanese market
- Research, align, lead, and execute end-to-end localization, including defining processes and managing operations with internal and external stakeholders
- Define product requirements, roadmaps, budgets, and forecasts.
- Communicate roadmaps, progress, risks and changes to internal and global cross-functional teams.
- Plan and conduct beta testing with select customers, gathering critical feedback and ensuring localized global product experience and efficacy meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Coordinate new product launches, working alongside marketing to create impactful results.
- Coordinate end of service and end of life on legacy Fontworks
- Analyze product performance, make strategic adjustments, and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for Monotype and our customers, propose and evaluate initiatives that will be the most impactful, promote them across the organization, secure funding and prioritization, and execute related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Fluent in Japanese and English
- 8-10 years of SaaS product management experience
- Experience translating local user research insight into a global SaaS offering
- Expertise in road mapping, including modeling impact, muti-variate testing, and driving activation and retention at scale
- Can plan and organize work in close collaboration with an international team of product managers, product designers, and engineers.
- Enjoys hands-on execution and strategic thought leadership
- Adept at building, measuring, and reporting against fundamental business metrics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills at all levels of an organization and external stakeholders, especially the ability to distill complex concepts for a non-technical audience
- Familiar with the Japanese culture, ideally with a solid understanding of Japanese UX/UI standards
